Joanne Mak
BPHTY, MSC (REHAB), APA NEUROLOGICAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Joanne graduated from the University of Queensland (UQ) with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy, holds a Masters of Science degree in Rehabilitation from the University of London and is a recognised APA Neurological Physiotherapist. As a physiotherapist since 1997, Joanne has had a broad range of experience. For the first 7 years of her career, she started working as a generalist hospital based physiotherapist and later became a senior physiotherapist in rehabilitation at Beaudesert and Ipswich Hospitals respectively.
To enhance her skills and knowledge, she relocated to London, UK, for the next 7 years where she worked in the community as a “Highly Specialist Physiotherapist”, an “Allied Health Professional Consultant” and a “Team Leader” of a community neuorological rehabilitation team. Today, she is the principal of My Rehab Team. She is also a clinical tutor and delivers lectures at UQ. Additionally, she is the secretary for Queensland Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Network (QPRN). Joanne holds membership with the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation (WFNR) – www.wfnr.co.uk and the neurological special interest group of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) – www.physiotherapy.asn.au.
