How likely are you to have osteopenia and osteoporosis?

Osteopenia and OsteoporosisOsteoporosis is a big issue for women (and men)!  As falls risks increases with age, severe injuries also increase if our bones are weak.   40% of people from a white ethnic background have osteopenia, low bone mass; and 7% have osteoporosis.  50% of Asians have osteopenia and 10% have osteoporosis.  Comparing with people from an Asian or Hispanic or white ethnic origin, people who are from the black ethnicity is the least likely to have osteopenia or low bone mass – 28% and 4% respectively.
