NEW STUDY BACKS PHYSIOTHERAPY AFTER STROKE

NEW STUDY BACKS PHYSIOTHERAPY AFTER STROKE - High intensity training and increased repetition of exercises was shown to have a significant positive effect on outcomes after stroke.

StrokeNEW STUDY BACKS PHYSIOTHERAPY AFTER STROKE

As therapists working in the field of neurological rehabilitation, it’s important that the treatment techniques we choose to use when working with our clients are backed by robust evidence.  A Dutch research team has recently published the results of an analysis of over 400 high-quality studies looking at the effectiveness of various treatment interventions used by physiotherapists working with stroke patients.

The study, which looked at over 50 different therapy techniques, showed excellent evidence for positive effects of many interventions, including those relating to gait training, arm-hand activities, and physical fitness.

Perhaps not surprisingly, high intensity training and increased repetition of exercises was shown to have a significant positive effect on outcomes after stroke.

If you’d like to talk to one of the therapists at My Rehab Team about treatment options after stroke, please contact us on 13004MYREHAB (1300469734) or through our website info@myrehabteam.com.au.
