Office workers are urged to be more active after evidence suggests a link between desk-bound lifestyles and cardiovascular disease, diabetes and some cancers. Workers should be doing light activity for at least two to four hours a day during working hours, recommends a guide published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. This can include moderate tasks, such as walking, to light tasks, such as doing work standing up and taking active standing breaks. For those with a busy schedule, you should strive to exercise for at least 20 minutes a day and drink plenty of water to combat office fatigue.
