We complete a brief phone or in-person screening to ensure we’re the right service for your needs.

We conduct your first consultation at home or a suitable community location to understand your goals and needs.

5. Personalised Plan
A tailored rehabilitation program is developed based on your assessment and goals.

6. Therapy & Ongoing Support
Our team delivers therapy in community settings and adjusts your program as needed to support progress.

7. Discharge & Follow-Up
Once goals are achieved, you receive a discharge report and home program, with optional ongoing review support available.

Appointment Wait Times

My Rehab Team is an adult neurological service providing mobile therapy. Our paediatric allied therapy sessions are at Medsana Medical Clinic – Eight Mile Plains.  Please contact the Medsana Medical Clinic directly on 07 38524878 for children’s appointments.

While waiting for an appointment, we will email useful information about our service to the client if they have an email address.

Physiotherapy

  • 3-4 weeks

Occupational Therapy

  • 8-12 weeks for Functional Capacity Assessment (+4 weeks for report writing on average);
  • 3-5 weeks for all other work including driving assessment

Speech Pathology

  • 3-4 weeks (note: variable capacity pending client location)
  • 1-2 weeks for swallow assessments if there’s choking risk

Podiatry

  • 4-5 weeks

Social Work

  • 2-3 weeks

Dietetics

  • 1-3 weeks

Exercise Physiology

  • 4-6 weeks

    *Hydrotherapy option available for clients with no contraindications.

Therapy Assistance

(registered therapist supervision required for NDIS clients)

    • 1-2 weeks for general exercise
    • 4 weeks for massage therapy

      Note: Soft-tissue therapy for NDIS clients is no longer offered by therapy assistants (it comes under physiotherapy)

What happens in the first session?
An initial assessment is completed during the first session to help us understand and measure the difficulties that you may be experiencing. It is also the time for you to tell us about your goals and expectations.
What do I need to do when you arrive?
Please be prepare with all the relevant information or things e.g. aids and equipment that you want to show us to enable us to do a thorough assessment of you. We will bring our equipment and resources along as well.
What might my rehabilitation program involve?
Depending on our assessment findings, you may receive input from one or more of our professionals.
How much improvement should I expect after a neurological event?

With the growing body of research on neuro-plasticity, we have become increasingly aware of improvement that can potentially take place even years after a neurological event such as a stroke. “The Brain that heals itself” by Norman Diodge is a good book that will inspire you.

It is important to note that for patients with a deteriorating or progressive neurological condition such as Parkinsons, Multiply sclerosis, etc. An aspect of their rehabilitation is about preserving ability, minimizing deterioration? and formulating appropriate adaptation to compensate for changes in ability.

I've just been given a neurological diagnosis. Who can I talk to?
Your GP should be your first port of call. For many neurological conditions, there are also large charity organisations which provide a wide range of resources and support services. The MS Society, Stroke Association Queensland, Parkinson’s Australia, to name a few.
Who is suitable for rehabilitation?
Rehabilitation can benefit anyone whether you were diagnosed recently or have had your symptoms a long time ago. The main consideration is having a clear goal in mind. Our team members can help you decide how your goal can be achieved or how it should be broken down so that it becomes smaller and achievable targets.
Do you provide payment plans?
We provide Afterpay, Payment Plans and Paypal Pay in 4 Available for eligible services.
