Brain injuries can cause dramatic changes to your life whether they are mild or strong. Some effects include: weakened communication and social skills, memory problems, slowed responses, impulsivity, fatigue, visual, hearing and swallowing difficulties. Speech pathology helps individuals re-build or strengthen their skills through numerous methods. When appropriate, they can prescribe non-verbal forms of aid, which include alphabet boards, communication boards and speech generating devices. Other services may include: assessment of swallowing abilities, assessment of speech, language and organisational skills, one-to-one or group therapy sessions, self-directed work (computer, worksheets, community activities etc.) and work with a vocational rehabilitation specialist to aid in the transition back into a work or school environment. Speech pathologists may also support families through counselling and education on issues surrounding brain injury rehabilitation.

My Rehab Team also offers other mobile health services including mobile physiotherapy,  exercise physiology,  dietetics,  podiatry and rehabilitation assistance/health coaching.  We are more than happy to help you on your journey to a healthier lifestyle.
